Graz is the capital city of the province Styria (Steiermark), with 250.000 inhabitants Austria's second largest city. The Old Town of Graz is one of the best preserved in Europe and was awarded World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2000. In 2003 Graz was European Cultural Capital, which boosted a lot of developments in the city. Some of them have certainly set landmarks, such as the spectacular Kunsthaus (Art Museum) or the Island in the Mur river.
After the fulminate year 2003 when Graz was the cultural capital of Europe the city has increasingly positioned itself as an excellent location for the most varying of events. There are many good reasons to visit Graz. Visitors are more than enthusiastic by the beautiful historic center of Graz, the attractive cultural programs, ranging from gastronomic quality and variety to the excellent infrastructure in terms of event locations and event spaces.
