Call for Workshops

The 4th international conference on Semantics And digital Media Technologies (SAMT) targets to narrow the large disparity between the low-level descriptors that can be computed automatically from multimedia content and the richness and subjectivity of semantics in user queries and human interpretations of audiovisual media - The Semantic Gap.

We invite proposals for workshops to be held in the context of SAMT 2009. Workshop proposals must have a clear focus on a novel and emerging topic relevant to SAMT. Workshops have their own program committee. Proposals for workshops have to include:

  • Title of the workshop
  • Rationale of the need and objective of the workshop
  • Duration (half/full day)
  • Program outline (number and type of sessions, e.g. oral, poster, panel, demo)
  • A draft call for papers with a list of topics of interest
  • Contact information of the workshop chair(s)
  • A draft program committee for the workshop
  • List of potential contributors

Workshop proposals will be reviewed by the workshop/tutorial chairs. Workshops that do not get sufficient submissions may be shortened or cancelled.
